Holiday's Top 3 Tips To Keep Meditating
Tip 1 - Start Small, Stay Small
5 mins of meditation a day is perfect if you meditate consistently. Work out what you can do each day (wether its 3-5 mins) and do that. The key is consistency.
Tip 2 - Journal
It’s easy for people to stop mediating if they can’t visually see the impact of their mediation work. But if you journal you can.
If you meditate for a specific reason like handling stress or negative thinking, write about that and after a few weeks or months you’ll be able to read back and see how things are changing for you. Imagine looking back at your journal and seeing that this is what I did back then in stressful situations - compared to now, this is what I do. Journaling is really affirming and helpful and keeps you going with your mediation practice.
Tip 3 - Use the things you learn in mediation in your life
We can practice things in mediation like self compassion and dealing with stress that you can then carry on into your real life.
So, if you do a self compassion mediation in the morning, do a few mini self compassion breaks during the day. Or if you are working on breathing mediation for stress, next time you feel stressed, take 3 deep breaths.
That's where the benefits of mediation will really come to life.
